My Granddad died just awhile ago, about 1pm. My grandad was 101 and was in pretty good health until this last year. Its been a rough last year, the body just wore out. But he is now with his son (my dad), daughter, wife, and his maker. I wasn't there. He had been in the hospital was doing better and they were going to move him to rehab when it all went south. Good bye Grand dad, I love you. Thankyou for all the good times, the fun times, all the hair cuts and quarters, your wisdom, your spunk, your love for playing cards, your love for your family, thank you. Don't have the arrangements yet, but when I do, I'll post them.

Prayers and and blessings for you and your family, Abi.
Rest Eternal grant to Abi's Grand-Dad, O Lord;
And let light perpetual shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the departed,
Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Prayers are with you
Abi, you and your family are in my prayers. In the Episcopal Church we always say: pray for the repose of his soul, may he rest in peace+ and I always trust that the words are intended for us, for God has already wrapped God's arms around our loved ones, and all is well and good in that place of eternal rest. So, may God's arms embrace you and your family in the days ahead, that you too are surrounded by that peace and love. It is sacred ground we walk upon when we celebrate a life lived.
I know what it is to do the service for a very close family member; I did it for my mom the day after Mother's day in 2005 [also my birthday that year too]. Rev Abi, may light perpetual shine upon him. Remember, Jesus is at your elbow, 24/7.
